Prof. Ferdinand Grossmann, 1947, congratulating the chorus upon the founding of the Concert Association. From the Concert Association Vienna State Opera Chorus, thanking the Volksoper Chorus for its help and support in the combined concert in the Musikverein of Hector Berlioz‘ Oratorio, „The Childhood of Christ“ on November 23rd, 1947. Program of the Good Friday Concert in the Vienna Musikverein on April 6th, 1946, in which the Volksoper Chorus performed in Ludwig van Beethoven’s Oratorio, „Christ on the Mount of Olives“. Of special note is the performance of soprano soloist Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. Letter from Prof. Robert Fanta, thanking the chorus for its perfomance of his Mass „Dona Nobis Pacem“ in the Church „am Hof“ (which was also broadcast on radio) in Vienna’s first district on May 11th, 1947. Letter from the Association of the Vienna Radio Orchestra, inviting the Volksoper Chorus to become founding member of the Association, followed by the letter, dated December 1st, 1947, confirming the founding of the Concert Association of the Vienna Volksoper Chorus. Letter from Volksoper Director Karl Dönch to Chairman Wolfgang Jeschek, in which he gave permission for the chorus to use the copying machine to copy sheet music. Note the conclusion of the letter, in which Director Dönch signs, affectionately „your old“ Karl Dönch. Membership card for Founding Members of the Concert Association of the Volksoper Chorus, dated December 1st, 1947. Letter from Prof. Leopold Hager to the Volksoper Chorus, with thanks and congratulations upon the Premieres of Puccini’s „Turandot“ and of Weber’s „Der Freischütz“, with the added footnote: „The Bridesmaids could be invited to any wedding“.
