The History of the Chorus
The Chorus was founded in 1946 as the “Chorvereinigung staatliche Volksoper" . The first artistisc director was Leopold Emmer. In 1981 our name was changed to “Konzertvereinigung Wiener Volksopernchor ”.
Numerous tours and guest appearances have brought us through Europe and Asia, as well as to the most important summer festivals in Austria such as the Bregenz and Mörbisch lake festivals as well as the Langenlois Festival and the Savonlinna Opera festival In Finland.
We have displayed our social engagement by participating in numerous benefit events, a special concern for us nowadays.
